Regular Season Round 8: Cibona - Split 72-71

One of the most interesting games of round 8 was a derby match between two teams from Croatia. The game took place in Zagreb where fifteenth rankedCibona edged visiting Split (3-5) 72-71 . They outrebounded Split 39-27 including 29 on the defensive glass. The winners were led by point guard Roko Rogic (187-1992) who scored that evening 17 points, 8 rebounds and 7 assists (was perfect 9-for-9 from the free throw line !!!) and Croatian Domagoj Vukovic (208-1993, agency: BIG) supported him with 8 points and 10 rebounds. Even 15 points and 6 rebounds by American Shannon Shorter (193-1989, college: N.Texas) did not help to save the game for Split . Forward David Skara (203-1995, college: Clemson) added 16 points and 4 assists for the guests. Both coaches tested many bench players in such tough game. Cibona (2-6) moved-up to thirteenth place, which they share with Krka and Cedevita Ol. Split at the other side dropped to the tenth position with five games lost. They share it with Zadar and Borac.
